In August 2019, after the two village committees discussed and studied with the villagers, Yangjiaping Village decided to start developing the silkworm industry, established more than 200 acres of mulberry tree planting demonstration base, and established a silkworm breeding cooperative. “I planted 20 acres of mulberry orchards and raised 5 silkworms. I beat the cotton yesterday, and today I weighed 50 kilograms. According to the market price, I can sell it for 30,000 yuan.” Villager Yi Xiaolin happily told reporters . Yi Xiaolin started raising silkworms in 2019. After participating in breeding technology training many times, he became an expert in breeding in the village.

Now everyone is more enthusiastic about planting mulberry and raising silkworms,” Yi Xiaolin said.
Yangjiaping Village insists on taking farmers as the main body to develop the sericulture industry and taking families as the core of mulberry and sericulture. Through party building guidance, unified base construction, standardized planting, standard silkworm houses, unified allocation of silkworm seeds, and unified technology Standards to achieve mutual benefit and win-win situation between village collectives and farmers. In the past two years, while the village has continued to increase the area of mulberry gardens, it has also actively improved planting technology and continuously improved the planting, breeding, processing, and sales industry chain.
Today, the mulberry garden of Yangjiaping Village Collective Economic Cooperative has grown from 40 acres to 480 acres now, and the number of silkworms has grown from 5 to more than 60 now. The average household income of villagers from the silkworm industry reaches more than 20,000 yuan, and the number of members of the community has grown from 5 to 46 now.
In 2022, Guanzhuang Town will further increase its industrial support and invest another 2.6 million yuan to build a new silkworm house and a machine room in Yangjiaping Village, purchase more than 2,400 pieces of supporting facilities for silkworm tools, and repair 28 holes in silkworm caves. The completion of standardized silkworm houses has given villagers more confidence, and more and more farmers have joined in planting mulberry and raising silkworms.
“At present, various supporting facilities have been put into operation. Yangjiaping Village is expected to produce more than 10,000 kilograms of cocoons and more than 1,500 kilograms of silk this year. The output value is estimated to be 800,000 yuan, and the average household income is expected to increase by 20,000 yuan.” said Bai Shihong, the mayor of Guanzhuang Town, is full of confidence in the development prospects of the silkworm breeding industry. “In the next step, we plan to attract farmers from surrounding villages to join in and develop the small silkworm industry in Yangjiaping into a large industry in the town. , to empower the town’s rural revitalization.”
