Mingai white cashmere goats are produced in Subulga Town, Yijinhuoluo Banner. They are famous for their high cashmere production, high reproduction rate and excellent meat quality. After more than 30 years of careful cultivation, an outstanding cashmere goat population has been formed with large individuals, high cashmere production, excellent cashmere quality, strong adaptability, and genetic stability, and has become one of the best groups of white cashmere goat breeds in Inner Mongolia. In October 2009, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce approved the registration of the “Mingai” trademark. In 2016, the “Mingai” trademark was successfully declared as a well-known trademark in Ordos City.
Wang Shengyun, director of the Comprehensive Support and Technology Promotion Center of Suburga Town, introduced that under the conditions of full house feeding and management, Mingai white cashmere goats can produce more than 1,500 grams of cashmere, with the highest individual cashmere production of 2,650 grams and a weight of 55. More than kilogram, velvet length 9 to 10 cm, velvet fineness 13 to 16 microns. Adult ewes produce more than 1,250 grams of cashmere and weigh more than 45 kilograms. The highest individual cashmere production is 1,650 grams. The lambing rate is 180%, and the lamb survival rate is more than 98%.
Wang Shengyun said that at present, Suburga Town has built six large-scale cashmere goat standardized breeding parks, six Mingai Inner Mongolia White Cashmere Goat Producers Association and Cashmere Goat Breeding Cooperatives have been registered, and there are 1,680 white cashmere goat breeding households. The total number of house-fed Mingai white cashmere goats in the town reached 85,000, of which 45,000 were basic female goats, and 45% were special-grade goats. It can provide the public with 25,000 commercial sheep every year, including 3,000 super-grade rams and 8,000 super-grade ewes. High-quality cashmere goats radiate to Shanxi, Shaanxi, Qinghai, Gansu, Liaoning, Ningxia, Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia, with a total of more than 200,000 goats exported.
