At present, the “Compilation of Cost and Benefit Data of National Agricultural Products” (2019) has not yet been published. The author compiled the 2017 data published in the 2018 edition and the “Compilation of Cost and Benefit Data of National Agricultural Products” in recent years and came to the following conclusions:
1. In the past three years, Xinjiang’s cotton production costs have been the lowest in the country.
2. In the past three years, the sales price of Xinjiang cotton has increased the most.
Specifically, in terms of production costs, in the past three years, there are three provinces where cotton production costs have increased by more than 10%. Hubei Province has the largest increase of 37.3%, followed by Gansu Province at 13.4% and Shanxi Province at 12.8%. %; there are 5 provinces with an increase of less than 10%; 4 provinces (autonomous regions) have experienced a decrease in production costs, among which Xinjiang has the largest decrease, 10.7% (see Table 1). The author believes that this is mainly due to the sowing area of machine-picked cotton in Xinjiang Gradually expanding, the sowing and harvesting of machine-picked cotton saves labor costs and reduces production costs accordingly. In 2017, except for Gansu and Xinjiang, cotton production costs in all provinces were higher than the national average. (See Table 1)

Subject to the planting methods, Affected by different factors such as labor costs, land costs and cotton quality, compared with 2015, the cotton income of the main producing provinces (autonomous regions) varied greatly in 2017. Judging from the sales price, compared with 2015, except for Hunan Province, where the sales price of cotton fell, prices in other provinces (autonomous regions) increased to varying degrees. Among them, the national average increased by 23.8% compared with 2015. In 2 provinces (autonomous regions), the cotton sales price increased higher than the national average in 2017. Among them, Xinjiang’s cotton sales price increased by 33.8%, ranking first in the country, and Jiangxi Province ranked third. Second, an increase of 24.1%. (See Table 2)

From the perspective of production cost and revenue ratio, In the past three years, only Gansu and Xinjiang have a significantly higher ratio of sales price to production cost than other provinces and higher than the national average. (See Table 3)
