Puning is “China’s Textile Industry Base City” and has a complete industrial chain of spinning, weaving, printing and dyeing, and sales. The textile and garment industry is one of Puning’s pillar industries. There are 2,530 textile and garment enterprises in the city, employing more than 150,000 people, creating an employment population of more than 300,000. The annual output is about 360 million meters of printed and dyed fabrics and 1.6 billion pieces of clothing. The textile printing and dyeing industry is not only an indispensable link in the entire industrial chain, but also the main source of pollution in the Lianjiang Basin.
In recent years, Puning has strengthened the treatment of industrial pollution sources and eliminated backward production capacity in accordance with the goals of Lianjiang water environment improvement. , planning and constructing the Puning Printing and Dyeing Center in accordance with the principles of “industrial agglomeration, enterprise concentration, unified management, and land intensification”.
Currently, 64 of Puning City’s 66 licensed printing, dyeing and washing companies have settled in the printing and dyeing center. Among them, 23 companies in the printing area have all been put into production and 41 in the printing and dyeing area. Printing, dyeing and washing companies entered the site to build factories and gradually entered the production stage.

Workers operate skillfully With advanced printing equipment, cloth with exquisite patterns continuously “flows” out of the production line like a waterfall. Entering the Puning Textile Printing and Dyeing Environmental Protection Comprehensive Processing Center, the park factory is a bustling production scene. According to reports, more than 2.2 billion yuan has been invested in the construction of the printing and dyeing center. The five printing factories invested by the government, the heating and gas supply project, and the first phase of the sewage treatment plant project have been basically completed to meet the production needs of enterprises entering the park.

The sewage treatment plant of the Printing and Dyeing Center was issued a pollutant discharge permit on December 26, 2019. The plant has a total investment of 394 million yuan and adopts a sewage classification collection system of “one plant, one category, one pipe, one monitoring”. It can process 60,000 tons of sewage per day. At present, it has basically completed the purchase and installation of equipment for processing 40,000 tons of sewage per day. The discharge standards are With COD ≤ 40 mg/L, it is a project with the strictest effluent standards, the smallest per ton treated water volume, and the most complete wastewater classification and quality collection method among similar domestic sewage treatment plants.

After stages of comprehensive improvement, the water quality of the Puning section of Lianjiang River has improved Keep improving. Various indicators of the Qingyangshan Bridge section improved significantly from January to November this year. The dissolved oxygen indicator increased by 128% year-on-year. The chemical oxygen demand, ammonia nitrogen, and total phosphorus concentrations decreased by 51.7%, 31.1%, and 44.2% respectively. Among them, chemical oxygen demand and dissolved oxygen meet the Class V water quality requirements for surface water. The Puning section of the Lianjiang River has basically said goodbye to the black and smelly environment, its ecological functions have gradually recovered, and the beautiful scenery of clear water and green shores has returned. </p
