On January 8, the detailed design review meeting for the methanol unit of Inner Mongolia Jiutai New Materials Co., Ltd.’s 1 million tons annual coal-to-ethylene glycol project was held in Xi’an. Relevant technical personnel from Inner Mongolia Jiutai New Materials Co., Ltd., British Johnson Matthey David Technology Co., Ltd., and Hualu Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. attended the meeting.
The meeting gave a detailed introduction to the methanol unit project overview, construction content, construction progress, project design plan, etc. The patent dealer Johnson Matthey discussed and reviewed the important technical documents, drawings, and device 3D models of the project in detail, and also clarified and improved various technical details of the project implementation.
The 1 million tons coal-to-ethylene glycol production project is coordinated by Jiutai Group and invested and constructed by Inner Mongolia Jiutai New Materials Company. It will be built into a high-standard, high-starting point smart coal chemical project. Inner Mongolia Jiutai New Materials Co., Ltd. is located in Tuoqing Industrial Park, with a total project investment of 13.3 billion yuan and a total area of 2,565 acres. The company’s project construction scale is to produce 1 million tons of ethylene glycol per year. The project uses domestic mature aerospace pulverized coal/SHELL Powdered coal gasification process technology, low-temperature methanol washing process technology and the world’s advanced Davy Company formaldehyde hydrogen carboxylation process technology produce ethylene glycol. The project construction period is three years and is planned to be completed and put into operation in 2020.
Inner Mongolia Jiutai New Materials Company also signed a US$120 million ethylene glycol and formaldehyde agreement with the British Johnson Matthey David Technology Co., Ltd. (DAVY Company) , methanol synthesis process technology transfer and catalyst contract, using internationally leading patented technology to improve product quality and increase product added value. By then, the price per ton of products will be nearly 500 yuan higher than similar products from other brands.
Inner Mongolia Jiutai New Materials Company cooperates with the US AP Company to build supporting syngas islands. Jiutai New Materials Company provides raw materials and public works to AP, AP The company invests in and operates synthesis gas island related equipment and meets the synthesis gas required by Jiutai New Materials Company to produce ethylene glycol. The syngas island operates 8,000 hours per year and supplies 550,000Nm3/h effective syngas (design capacity). </p
