Introduction
In the context of refining and chemical integration, the polymerization cost of new materials is expected to be further reduced. The recycling of recycled polyester raw materials is unstable, and the advantage of low-price products is no longer there. The development of the industry has entered a transformation cycle. In the past, recycled polyester was developed in an extensive and profit-seeking manner with low-cost raw materials as the core. In the future, there will be differentiated and intensive development with green environmental protection as the core. High-end environmentally friendly fiber is obviously a direction and has also been the focus of market attention in the past two years.
GRS certification is a prerequisite
GRS certification is the abbreviation of Global Recycling Standard. It is a verification standard for recycled fiber established by the Control Union Certifications (CU), an international environmental certification body. At the beginning of the year, French retail giant Carrefour has officially notified garment suppliers that they must pass GRS global recyclability standard certification, or entrust ITS companies to conduct customers’ own environmental standards audits. In the future, if you want to become a raw material supplier for large companies, GRS certification will be a prerequisite. GRS certification is only valid for one year, and companies need to audit costs every year. The characteristic of GRS certification is traceability. In addition to the source such as bottles, other upstream and downstream raw material companies need to have GRS certification.
Domestic GRS certified enterprises
At present, there are not many companies in China that have obtained GRS certification, but those with stable orders are mainly filament companies that have obtained certification in the early stages. The market currently faces two constraints. First, EU countries are the main areas for the application of environmentally friendly fibers, and systems have not yet been formed in other areas. Secondly, most of our textile and apparel exports are yarns and downstream links, and the export volume of short fibers is not large. Therefore, when enterprises that are more focused on terminals obtain GRS certification and obtain export orders, the development of environmentally friendly products can enter the fast lane.
Industry insiders believe that the recycled polyester industry has begun a green development cycle, and domestic bottle flake factories have switched to producing high-end products. In fact, the 3A bottle tablet production line requires stainless steel, and the conversion cost is not too high for the company, so the output has increased rapidly. In comparison, the export growth rate of environmentally friendly recycled chips and environmentally friendly fibers is slightly average. So, what is the current supply and demand pattern of environmentally friendly products? What will be the future trend?
