On November 22, the second 535-ton methanol synthesis reactor of Inner Mongolia Jiutai New Materials Co., Ltd.’s 1 million-ton-per-year ethylene glycol project was successfully hoisted. At this point, the two synthesis reactors of the project’s methanol unit have been installed in place, marking that the main core equipment in the methanol boundary area has been hoisted.
The methanol synthesis reactor introduces the patented technology of British Johnson Matthey and is manufactured by Dongfang Boiler Co., Ltd., with an inner diameter of 4350mm, a wall thickness of 122mm, a length of 23722mm, and a net weight of 535 tons. The operating weight during operation can reach 753.5 tons, and the equipment is mainly made of alloy steel. This hoisting uses a 1250t crawler crane as the main crane and a 400t crawler crane as the auxiliary crane. The total lifting weight is 1850 tons, which is the heaviest core equipment in the methanol unit area.
