In order to strengthen the guarantee of raw materials in the textile industry and maintain industrial safety and stability, Wang Lianchun put forward the following suggestions:
First, accelerate the integrated development of modern coal chemical industry and chemical fiber industry. The basic national conditions of my country’s energy resources are “rich in coal, poor in oil, and low in gas.” With the development of new green and advanced chemical industry technologies, coal can be chemically processed and become an important source of raw materials for the chemical fiber industry.
It is recommended to thoroughly implement the “Modern Coal Chemical Industry Innovative Development Layout Plan” based on my country’s basic energy conditions, and accelerate the integrated development of modern coal chemical industry and chemical fiber industry. Coal-based chemical fiber raw material projects will be given certain preferential policies in terms of coal resource allocation, inter-provincial power transfer, investment, taxation, etc.
The second is to accelerate the cultivation and development of the bio-based chemical fiber manufacturing industry. Make full use of crop waste, bamboo, hemp, fast-growing forests and rich marine biological resources, and develop industrial raw material routes that replace fossil resources with bio-renewable resources.
It can be seen that the subsequent development of polyester filament as a textile raw material will face varying degrees of reform. In addition to the breakthroughs and development of production technology in the polyester filament industry in 2021, relying on the strong supply and demand relationship and the benefits brought by the macro aspect, the price of polyester filament products has continued to rise since February 2021, and has risen after the Spring Festival. The trend is accelerating. As the main raw materials of textile chemical fiber, PTA and ethylene glycol naturally provide fuel and push up the price.
Driven by the futures market, as well as the bullishness of raw material factories and dealers, raw material prices have overturned our perceptions over the past many years. PTA has skyrocketed from 3118 points at the beginning of 2019 to nearly 5000 points now. Ethylene glycol is even crazier, rising from 2926 points at the beginning of 2019 to around 6300 points currently. To be honest, the increase not only scares the polyester factory, Even polyester raw material companies are confused.
I remember that in 2019, everyone was still discussing where the bottom of polyester prices would be, but in just one year, we learned how terrifying the peak was.
Polyester raw materials are rising As a result, the price of natural polyester filament has also been rising. In the past, polyester factories would adjust prices by a maximum of 100-200 yuan, and they would also be reminded of the buffer time for execution; now they are directly notified of price increases of more than 500 yuan, and they are all increased multiple times on the same day and implemented immediately, especially in the second half of the Spring Festival. , whether it is POY or DTY, etc., coupled with the economic orientation after the recovery of the epidemic, the price of polyester has continued to rise. The current price increase of polyester after the Spring Festival is almost unprecedented, with the unit price exceeding 1,000 yuan per ton. This is indeed It’s history-making.
