The oxygen index refers to the oxygen concentration at which a material reaches the ignition point. Generally speaking, the higher the oxygen index of a material, the higher the oxygen concentration required for ignition, and the less likely it is to be ignited; conversely, the material with a low oxygen index will easily reach the ignition point under low oxygen concentration. Oxygen index less than 21 is a flammable material, and an oxygen index above 28 is a flame retardant material.

Flame retardant fabrics are divided into temporary flame retardant, semi-permanent flame retardant and durability (Permanently) Flame retardant.
Temporary flame-retardant fabrics: use water-soluble flame-retardant finishing agents, such as sand, tungsten acid, etc., and apply them evenly to the fabric by dipping, padding, brushing or spraying. It has a flame retardant effect after drying. It is suitable for items that do not need to be washed or are washed infrequently, such as curtains, sunshades, etc. It is economical and easy to handle, but it is not resistant to washing.

Semi-permanent flame retardant fabric: means that the finished fabric can withstand 10-15 times of gentle washing and still has flame retardant effect , but it is not resistant to high temperature soaping. This process is suitable for interior decoration fabrics, train seats, coverings, etc.
Durable flame-retardant finishing fabric: it can be washed more than 50 times and can be soaped. It is suitable for frequently washed textiles, such as work protective clothing, firefighting suits, tents, bags, household items and other items.
