Types and causes of dense defects in cotton gray fabrics
Dense defects (densedefects) are fabric defects that are densely distributed on the cloth surface. They mainly include:
Yarn skipping: 1-2 warp yarns skip more than 5 weft or warp yarns and float on the cloth surface in a linear shape;
Star jump: one warp or weft skips 2-4 other weft or warp yarns to form a star point shape;
Weft shrinkage: Weft yarn knots are woven into the fabric or loops appear on the cloth surface;
Knots (shuttle): The cloth surface shows dense knots (knots of shuttle);
Edge support defects: 1-2 warp and weft yarns on the edge of the fabric are broken, or the yarn body is bruised and fluffed, and it is easy to break;
Raw edge: The weft yarns are juxtaposed densely or dispersedly, and the outside of the cloth edge is exposed in a whisker shape;
Cotton ball: The warp and weft yarns are fluffy, and the fibers are thick and attached to the yarn;
Slub yarn: There are thick sections on the warp and weft yarns woven into the fabric; 52vGQH2
