The reporter saw at the Gansu Nongken Dunhuang Farm Machine Cotton Picking and Planting Base that large cotton pickers were continuously carrying out harvesting operations in the fields, from picking cotton, collecting cotton, packaging, and throwing bags in one go.
It is understood that the biggest advantage of the cotton picker is the integrated packaging after harvesting, which saves farmers transportation time. Usually a cotton picker can harvest 120 acres of cotton in a day, and the amount of flowers picked in a day is about 50,000 kilograms. .
This year, Dunhuang City’s Zhuanqukou Town adopted the form of “village collective + enterprise + base” and purchased a batch of intelligent cotton picking and packaging machines. Starting from early October, machine-based cotton picking will be carried out in the main cotton producing areas of Dunhuang City. Socialized services have assisted the autumn harvest of machine-picked cotton in Dunhuang City. So far, 2,000 acres of cotton have been harvested.
