The difference between plain weave and twill weave in Oxford bag fabrics

There are plain Oxford cloth and twill Oxford cloth among luggage fabrics. The editor lists how to distinguish the difference between the two.

The weaving method of twill Oxford cloth: the warp and weft are interlaced at least once every two yarns, and the warp and weft interweaving points are added to change the fabric structure, collectively called twill fabric. It can be divided into fine twill and coarse twill. Twill bag fabric feels soft, breathable, hygroscopic, tight and thick.

The surface of twill Oxford cloth is fuller, and it is easy to open and shape during the printing and dyeing process without shrinking. Twill is divided into single-sided twill and double-sided twill. The warp and weft yarns are interlaced less often than the plain weave, so that the gaps between the warp and weft yarns are smaller, and the yarns can be arranged closely. As a result, the fabric has a higher density, is thicker, has better gloss, has a softer feel, and has better elasticity than the plain weave. Under the same conditions of yarn density and thickness, the abrasion resistance and fastness of twill Oxford cloth are inferior to those of plain Oxford cloth.

Plain weave is a simple weave. It is made up of warp and weft yarns interlaced up and down. The plain weave has good strength and a strong feel. It is characterized by many interweaving points. The texture is firm, crisp and smooth. The density of plain Oxford cloth cannot be too high, it is relatively thin and has good wear resistance and breathability.
