What is NFPA 701 Flame Retardant Standard

NFPA 701 is a fire protection standard published by the National Fire Protection Association, which is applicable to hanging fabrics such as curtains in public places that do not require water resistance.
Test method1:
Suitable for fabrics and used in door curtains, draperies, or other window covering materials
It is suitable for single-layer fabrics and multi-layer door curtains, curtains and draperies that are closely combined with sewing, gluing, etc. Test method 2 must be used for vinyl-coated fabrics

Applicable to the following products:
1) Table skirt
2) Tablecloth
3) Booth partition
4) Textile wall curtains
Test method 1 is not applicable to samples with surface area density greater than 700g/m2

Door curtains, curtains, or other window covering materials include but are not limited to the following products:
1) Curtains
2) Stage and theater curtain
3) Vertically foldable blackout curtains
4) Roller curtains
5) Hospital hidden curtain
6) Window fabric
7) Vertical blackout fabric or blinds
8) Horizontal folding blackout curtains
9) Decorative curtain
10) Vertical blackout fabric or blinds
Test method 2:
Suitable for fabrics with flat surface and surface area greater than 700g/m2 including multi-layer fabrics, films, plastic curtains, etc.
Suitable for vinyl coated fabrics
Suitable for awnings, tents, tarps and similar architectural fabric structures and banners
