Shedding mechanism (shed height and heald frame movement)
1. Shed height
The large displacement of the warp when shedding is called shed height. The height of the heald frame on each page is different. It increases from the cloth fell to the back beam direction from page to page, so that the front shed is sharp. triangle. In order to achieve high-speed operation, the shed triangle of water-jet looms tends to be miniaturized, and its shed angle is generally 23° to 26°. The purpose is to ensure that the shed is open and the weft yarn passes smoothly, while minimizing the swing of the reed and the lifting stroke of the heald frame to reduce the friction between the warp yarns and them, which is beneficial to reducing warp yarn breakage.
2. Heald frame movement
The large displacement of the heald frame during the shedding process is called the heald frame movement. For clear sheds, the opening heights of heald frames on each page are different, and their movements are also different. The relationship between the two is:

In the formula: Si ——heald frame movement;
Hi ——shed at the heald frame Height;
e1 ———heald eye length;
e2 ——the gap between the heddle earring and the heddle rod;
> e3 ———The reduction in stroke caused by the deformation of the heald frame and its transmission connectors and the gap in the leisure pair.
