The Sericulture Research Institute has undertaken 184 national-level testing varieties and 84 provincial-level testing varieties, accounting for more than 70% of the total testing number in Jiangsu Province. The expert team inspected the preservation of silkworm genetic resources, breeding quantity, body shape, breeding environment, and mulberry orchard management at the Sericulture Base of Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, and carefully checked the work plan for performance measurement, breeding areas, historical records, and production performance, cocoon silk quality results, images and other related data, and provided on-site guidance on data collection and analysis of silkworm genetic resources, and scientific assessment of changes in characteristics and production performance of silkworm resources. After on-site inspection and listening to the report, the expert group spoke highly of the silkworm genetic resources protection and census work of the Sericulture Research Institute. They believed that the census team overcame difficulties such as tight time and heavy tasks, with strong organization and technical standards, and scientifically recorded data on various indicators. , complete and well completed the work related to the census of silkworm genetic resources.
