Interpretation of color system design for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou in 2022
The theme of the color system of the Hangzhou Asian Games is “Light Makeup and Heavy Makeup”, which is inspired by the poem of Su Shi, a poet from the Song Dynasty. Refining and concentrating, we designed a color system based on “Rainbow Purple” and supplemented by “Reflecting Sun Red, Ink White, Laurel Yellow, Water Light Blue, Lake and Mountain Green” to express the lush natural ecology of lakes and mountains, and A colorful picture of Hangzhou in the new era full of innovation, vitality and sports passion.
“Rainbow Purple” comes from the main color of “Tide” in the emblem of the Hangzhou Asian Games. It is not only the color of gathering and blending, but also the color of vitality and innovation. It symbolizes “the sun and the moon shine together and the style of the times”, conveying happiness, auspiciousness, The beautiful meaning of high spirits and hard work is an important foundation for shaping the unique visual image of the Hangzhou Asian Games.
As the auxiliary color, “Yingri Red” takes the color of rays and charm, “Ink White” takes the color of light ink, the tolerant color, “Laurel Yellow” takes the color of osmanthus, the fragrant color, “Water Blue” takes the clear sky, The color of water waves, “lake and mountain green” takes the color of green mountains and ecology. Different colors are used in combination through the formation and overlapping of shapes, complementing the “rainbow purple”.
