Xia Lingmin: 2022 will indeed be a difficult year for the textile industry. Affected by the complex and severe macro situation at home and abroad and multiple unexpected factors, my country’s textile industry has been under pressure from both the supply and demand ends. The economic operation has shown a slowdown, and the problem of insufficient corporate orders has been more prominent. .
Recently, the China Textile and Apparel Federation’s Industrial Economics Research Institute released the “Analysis Report on the Economic Operation of my country’s Textile Industry in the First Three Quarters.” In the report, in the first three quarters, the industrial added value of textile enterprises above designated size nationwide decreased by 0.4% year-on-year, operating income increased by 3.1% year-on-year, and total profits decreased by 23.6% year-on-year. The growth rates all slowed down compared with the same period last year.
Judging from the operation of different industries, the upstream chemical fiber and cotton spinning industries have the greatest profit pressure. Enterprise inventories continue to be at high levels, and the damage to profits is particularly obvious. The main reason is that the price of raw materials continues to be high and the cost is difficult to transmit along the industrial chain. However, the mid-stream and downstream printing and dyeing, filament weaving, clothing and other sub-industries are generally operating well, with production and sales indicators achieving positive growth; although the home textile industry has shrunk in production and sales, its profitability is stable.
There are also some highlights worthy of attention: For example, in terms of capacity utilization, the national textile industry and chemical fiber industry capacity utilization rates in the first three quarters were 77.6% and 83.3% respectively, although these data were both down by about 2 percentage points from the same period last year. , but it is still higher than the 75.5% capacity utilization level of the national industry in the same period.
