In Suining County, the research team held discussions and exchanges with relevant persons in charge and technical personnel from the Xuzhou Agricultural and Rural Comprehensive Service Center, Suining County Agricultural and Rural Bureau, etc., focusing on the development status and existing problems of the sericulture industry in Suining County, and combined Based on the actual local production conditions, the directional goals and specific requirements for thetransformation and upgrading of the sericulture industry were put forward, and the sericulture industry’s moderate-scale operation, silkworm variety selection, demonstration of labor-saving facilities and equipment, and sericulture anti-virus security were discussed. Measures and diversified development of sericulture resources have been put forward.
In Tongshan District, the research team specially invited Professor Li Bing, director of the Sericulture Research Institute of Suzhou University and a scientist in the national sericulture system, to conduct interviews with the heads of municipal, district and town sericulture business departments, village collective heads, and grassroots technical personnel. held discussions and exchanges, and inspected the Jiamei Sericulture Family Farm in Danji Town, Tongshan District, the Sericulture Product Processing Base in Tieying Village, Tangzhang Town, and other sites. The research team conducted in-depth exchanges on the development and construction of mechanized mulberry orchards, supporting labor-saving sericulture facilities, construction of sericulture ecological parks, demonstration of moderate-scale sericulture business models, and the development of diversified utilization of resources such as mulberry leaf tea, and put forward corresponding industry development suggestions. We provided on-site guidance services to help the Jiamei Sericulture Family Farm face practical problems such as year-round sericulture layout, pesticide contamination of mulberry garden soil, labor recruitment difficulties, and insufficient technical force to help the farm solve practical difficulties.
Subsequently, the research team also went to Huai’an and Suqian to conduct on-site investigations on sericulture and silkworm seed production and operation entities such as Huai’an Huaibao Silkworm Breeding Co., Ltd., Suqian Silkworm Breeding Farm, Suqian Silkworm Village Sericulture Breeding Professional Cooperative, etc. Understand the local sericulture, silkworm seed production and industrial development, and provide corresponding technical guidance.
