Reduced inspection and quarantine fees benefit thousands of home textile companies in Jiangyin. In the era of no quotas, we need to actively respond to challenges
It was learned from the Jiangyin Inspection and Quarantine Bureau that in order to help foreign trade companies tide over the current difficult period, the national inspection and quarantine system has reduced charges for exported textiles since January 1 this year. The scope of commodities involved is: No. 61 in the national statutory inspection and quarantine catalog Chapter 62 of all export textiles.
According to statistics from the Jiangyin Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, in 2008 the bureau inspected 26,100 batches of textile exports from the region, with a value of US$787 million, including 11,700 batches of textile fabric products, worth US$318 million; and 13,500 batches of clothing products. , US$406 million, with more than 1,100 related textile production companies. Calculated based on the export volume in 2008, 2.7 million yuan in related enterprise fees will be reduced or exempted in 2009.
All textile trade quotas have been canceled since January 1, 2009, and the 30-year-old textile quota system has completely withdrawn from the stage of history. However, the cancellation of export quotas does not mean that my country’s textiles can enter the European and American markets unimpeded. Competition in the textile market will become more intense after quotas are cancelled, and some countries will often set up new technical trade measures to protect their own textile manufacturing industries.
Faced with the opportunities and challenges brought by the “quota-free era” of textile trade, Jiangyin Inspection and Quarantine Bureau reminds Jiangyin area textile export enterprises to actively respond and prepare: Various technical trade measures for textile trade in the “quota-free era” , we should accelerate product upgrading, improve the overall competitiveness of the industry, strive to create internationally renowned brands, pay attention to the contribution of technology and brands, increase the added value of products, and develop high-quality, high-function and high-value-added textile fabrics. Arrange export production plans in an orderly manner to avoid blind expansion. It is necessary to change the export trade mode that only focuses on pure quantity growth to the export trade mode that focuses on product quality and technical level improvement. Take a new path of industrialization, improve scientific and technological content, enhance economic benefits, reduce resource consumption, mitigate environmental pollution, and give full play to the advantages of human resources. Increase investment in science and technology and work hard on technologies, processes and equipment with independent intellectual property rights.
