IP68 protection grade Teflon waterproof and breathable membrane
The English name of polytetrafluoroethylene is polytetrafluoroethylene, or ptfe for short. It is a polymer compound polymerized by tetrafluoroethylene. It is prepared through a biaxial stretching process. It is a polytetrafluoroethylene (ptfe) material commonly known as the “King of Plastics” .
This material has a microporous structure with staggered fibers, high porosity, and small and uniform pore diameter.
It has properties such as high temperature resistance, alkali resistance, and hydrophobicity.
Teflon waterproof and breathable membrane is widely used in floodlights, street lights, spotlights, high-power lights, lawn lights, underwater lights and other products.
The main products of waterproof and breathable membranes used in outdoor lighting fixtures include threaded respirators and adhesive-backed patch products.
Products used in the outdoor lighting industry have protection levels up to IP67 and IP68.
The working principle of breathability can be divided into two types: micropores and hydrophilic groups. Teflon waterproof breathable membrane uses the former, because the minimum diameter of water droplets is about 20 microns, and the diameter of water vapor molecules is only 0.0004 There is a huge difference in diameter between the two. Water vapor can pass through the microporous membrane through the principle of diffusion. Liquid water or water droplets cannot pass through due to the surface tension of liquid water or water droplets, which prevents water penetration and makes it breathable. The membrane has a waterproof function.
